Let's see, Jagjaguwar is at the front of all things indie music these days with a roster of bands like Bon Iver, Okkervil River and Women. And Dinosaur Jr. are indie rock elder-statesmen who, in their truest form as J Mascis, Lou Barlow and Murph, have put out classic records on SST and re-releases on Merge. So bringing the two together would pretty much complete the indie rock cycle, wouldn't it?
Well, consider the cycle complete. Jagjaguwar has announced they have signed Dinosaur Jr. and hope to put out the band's new record this summer. J and the boys are currently hard at work finishing up the disc, and while there is no release date yet, speculation is there will be a guitar solo or two on the album. [Pitchfork]
Woah!
Welcome!

jaguars are kind of like junior dinosaurs.
I always thought Jagjaguwar was one of those Broken Social Scene-like indie rock communes. Guess they're branching out into legitimate indie rock label now.
