Dillinger Escape Plan part ways with drummer

Though a formal announcement has yet to be made, it would appear that drummer Chris Pennie, a founding member of New Jersey tech-metal icons The Dillinger Escape Plan, has quit the band. A bulletin posted on the band's MySpace page on Friday night spoke of progress, change and internal problems, and though it didn't mention Pennie by name, the bulletin stated that drummer Gil Sharone of L.A.'s Stolen Babies was working with the band in the studio. Rumors had circulated about Pennie's departure from the band ever since he started recording with Coheed and Cambria earlier this year.
In other DEP news, recording continues for the band's previously announced third album with producer Steve Evetts, titled Ire Works and due out this fall. Follow the jump for a teaser trailer.
