Ever since Brooklyn based trio Digable Planets gave us Reachin' (A New Refutation of Time and Space) in '93, any hip-hop head will tell you what a notable hit "Rebirth of Slick (Cool like Dat)" was, in which they caught our attention with their hip-hop/jazz fusion that cut across the lines of laid back and intellectual. And their follow-up album Blowout Comb released in 1994 didn't disappoint once again, sampling from O.G. jazz artists like Roy Ayers, Shuggie Otis, and Bobbi Humphrey to name a few (basically any crate diggers dream). Now we can relive the memory as Digable Planets will be re-issuing Blowout Comb via vinyl, so any diggers, record collectors, and hip-hop heads alike can pick up that gem here.
