Did Michael Jackson Write Music For Sonic the Hedgehog?

· by

Strange details about Michael Jackson’s life are likely to emerge for quite some time following his death earlier this year. And his former collaborator, composer Brad Buxer, has revealed one of the strangest yet—Buxer claims that Jackson secretly composed the music for the videogame Sonic the Hedgehog 3.

"Michael called me at the time for help on this project, and that's what I did," Buxer said in a recent interview. "At the time, game consoles did not allow optimal sound reproduction, and Michael found it frustrating. He did not want to be associated with a product that devalued his music ... If he is not credited for composing the music, it's because he was not happy with the result sound coming out of the console."

Sega never confirmed Jackson’s involvement with Sonic the Hedgehog, but speculation about Jackson’s input has often surfaced. Apparently a confidentiality agreement has silenced Sega executives, but even Buxer is unclear on how much involvement the King of Pop had. "I've never played the game so I do not know which tracks Michael and I worked on have been kept," he said.
