Earlier this year, we reported that Bloc Party was ready to end their hiatus in September, aka the month we're in right now. But it appears that while the time off might expire, the band's frontman might not be involved with whatever the band is up to. At least, that's what we're gathering from a recent article in NME. In the piece, lead singer Kele Okereke says that he hopes he hasn't been fired and that he doesn't "really know what's going on."
Apparently the rest of Bloc Party has been spending time in the studio, though it's been happening without Okereke. At least, that's what he's saying.
"I was actually having lunch about three weeks ago, just here on 8th Avenue, and I saw somebody walk past and I recognized the haircut," he said. "It was Russell. I was like, 'Hey!,' but he didn't see me and I followed him around the corner and then I saw Matt, Gordon and Russell all standing outside this rehearsal space. They all went inside."
Word, guys? You're just going to get back together and not have your frontman on board? Weird.
