Devo Releasing Single Inspired By Mitt Romney's Animal Cruelty

With the United States presidential election on the horizon for November, we should probably expect an increase in politically influenced music, right? Right. Well, enter Devo.

The new wave-rock outfit is planning to release a single Aug. 25 called "Don't Roof Rack Me, Bro (Remember Seamus)." The song will cover the 1983 Romney family trip from Massachusetts to Ontatio, Canada, during which they kept their dog Seamus in a roof-mounted crate. The single release will coincide with Devo founder Gerald V. Casale's "Remember Seamus" campaign, the goal of which is to "make 2012 the year where animals like Seamus are valued and honesty is praised."

Furthermore, The Crate Escape: Seamus Unleashed--a smartphone app that lets you (as Seamus) exact revenge on Romney--will be released Aug. 26, which also happens to be National Dog Day. [FACT]
