Depeche Mode’s “Wrong” video, which provides a taster for the band’s upcoming Sounds of the Universe album, briefly surfaced on YouTube today. The clip has been removed due to a copyright claim by EMI Music, but you can hear a live version of the song from Germany’s Echo Awards here.

Sounds of the Universe looks set to provoke an intriguing iTunes trend, with users of the service having the option of paying $18.99 for a host of remixes, video files and other exclusive content related to the album. The price seems high, but loyal Depeche Mode fans are likely to jump at the chance to own all these goodies, especially as EMI's lawyers seems to be shutting down any illegal uploads with indecent haste. 

This section of the band's press release sheds more light on the offer, which begins today (Feb. 24) and indicates that Apple is adding subscription-style services to its download platform:

“The first iTunes Pass debuts today in conjunction with Depeche Mode's forthcoming 12th studio album, "Sounds of the Universe," to be released on April 21 in the US. Fans who sign up starting today get the alternative/dance pioneers' new single, "Wrong," as well as the Black Light Odyssey Dub Remix of the new track "Oh Well." They will also receive the new album on its street date plus great music and video exclusives before and after the album's release over the next fifteen weeks. The Depeche Mode iTunes Pass can be purchased starting today for $18.99.
