Depeche Mode Frontman Confuses Peru with Chile

At a recent stop in Peru, Depeche Mode frontman Dave Gahan had a total Spinal Tap moment; he shouted out "Thank you very much Chile." In fairness, most people couldn't pick Peru from Chile, or tell the difference between chili, Chilli (from TLC), Chili's (the restaurant) or Chile, so it's understandable. Also, Lima, where Depeche Mode were performing, is only like a few hundred miles from the Chilean border, so it's okay. It's not like he said, "Thank you very much Mongolia." [Spinner]

He didn't say "chile" or "children" at all! Gahan said "thank you and good night" in an out of breath way. He's have vocal problems all year and the tour schedule takes its toll. He's ended with that sentance for years! The only variation is "see you next time".
