
There was a time not too long ago that every struggling rapper in the universe would do practically anything to ink a deal with Rick Rubin. It’s not the same with the mixtape generation, but Def Jam remains a concern. Today they announced the newest addition to their roster: Cleveland hardhead Ray Jr. He’s got ten mixtapes, with another one, Elected, coming next Friday. He’s also got a remix of his song “Sloppy” in the pipes, which will be featuring his new labelmates Big Sean and 2 Chainz. You can hear his latest single “Livin” below, which is a fairly standard slice of post-Luger agro-rap. At least he’s working. [XXL]
