Def Jam / TAG Records announce plans for Q

The entry of TAG body spray into the music industry might have seemed like a head scratcher, but label head Jermaine Dupri has big plans for the TAG's first artist. Brooklyn native Q has quickly gone from unsigned talent to playing in the big leagues. After placing a few songs on lower profile projects (including remixes of Alicia Keys and Rihanna), Q is now the subject of an MTV documentary, VMA's Livin the Dream, which is scheduled to air on September 15. In addition, there are plans for Q to be featured on a DJ Envy mixtape and a dedicated print campaign. With this much exposure and a near limitless marketing budget, TAG might just be the forerunner of a successful model for the music business in the new century. [Hip Hop DX]
