Deerhoof album due in October, band gives you chance to record one of its songs

Deerhoof is set to release album Offend Maggie on October 7. Keeping things econo, the band will follow its release with a world tour of all ages shows with low ticket prices.  Deerhoof plans to soon make one song available as a downloadable written score on an interactive website. You, dear musician, can then record the song and share your version on the website as an mp3. More details on that when the band makes them available.

Deerhoof has some dates lined up in Japan this month, as well as a few sporadic shows in the states. You can catch them at The Roots Family Picnic in Philadelphia on June 7, a free show in Brooklyn at Prospect Park on July 18, and KCRW's World Festival at The Hollywood Bowl on July 27. Also, check out the upcoming Will Ferrell movie of the day "The Stepbrother" that will feature Deerhoof's Greg Saunier playing with producer John Brion and Nels Cline of Wilco on the soundtrack.
