Guitar freaks who crave FX pedals with names like Total Sonic Annihilation and Soundwave Breakdown need look no further than Brooklyn’s Death By Audio. Death By Audio is also a venue, a practice space, and home to the sci-fi garage rock of A Place to Bury Strangers. Most of the operations are overseen by Strangers frontman Oliver Ackermann, who gives a guided tour of Death By Audio in this Pitchfork.tv presentation.
Ackermann’s band may have been denied the title of “loudest band in New York” in a recent issue of Time Out (Black Dice claims that honor), but that hasn’t halted his plans for world domination. Death By Audio has announced plans for a label, beginning with a cassette-only release by two-piece Brooklyn band Sisters. The Sisters tape, and the rest of the label’s releases, can be purchased through the Death By Audio Records site.
A Place to Bury Strangers has a few dates with Nine Inch Nails coming up in August, dates below.
08.15 Oklahoma City, OK: Ford Center
08.16 Houston, TX: Toyota Center
08.18 Dallas, TX: American Airlines Center
08.20 St Louis, MO: Scottrade Center

So many bands.
So many labels.
With that said, I'm definitely going to check out what DBA puts out.
