We thought one important Jack White update in a day was enough, but apparently not. In addition to getting back together with Meg to work on a new White Stripes album, Jack White and The Dead Weather have announced a full-blown tour of North America this summer. And here I am unable to make it to the post office before it closes.
First off, we get more details about the debut Dead Weather album, Horehound. It will be out July 14 on White’s Third Man Records in the U.S., with Warner Brothers distribution. In the U.K., it will hit stores a day earlier on Third Man with Coumbia distribution. Finally, lest you thought Meg White was the only Jack White associate who would invite you to their gumdrop house, check out Allison Mosshart on Horehound’s cover.
I was one of the lucky few to see the Dead Weather’s first public performance in the Bowery Ballroom last month, and the band puts on a hell of a live act (in truth, it’s more the Mosshart show than the Jack White show).
