Dead Meadow reports from the studio

Via: Matablog
Psych-rockers Dead Meadow recently wrote a letter from Sunset Sound studios to update everyone on the progress being made on the band's forthcoming fifth album. I'm sure that was the band's intention, anyway. Instead all we really learn is that the band seems to have a knack for recording in haunted places. Among the claims made by bassist Steve Kille are that "appearantly[sic] the ghost of Jim Morrison walks the secret storage rooms and echo chambers" of Sunset Sound. Prior to arriving at the studio, Dead Meadow spent some time in Idiana tracking the basic instruments at an old inn/farmhouse. As luck would have it, this place is also supposedly haunted and the band was subjected "hidden Evp sounds on some of the guitar sounds and buzzing bits. Even a violin noise from no where and walking when no one was upstairs."
You can read the whole wacky story by clicking on the link above. Should the band decide to provide us with a more conventional update (with, say, a track list, or a release date, or something of the like) we'll pass the information along.

The band is likely road-testing new material that we recently updated you on. Here are the dates: [...]
