De La Soul’s Maseo Announces Solo Album, ‘DJ Conductor,’ Featuring Mac Miller, KRS-One, Fashawn

For those of you keeping track, De La Soul and its three members have been keep super-busy lately. First off, the group has a new album, tentatively titled You’re Welcome, due out and it’s sounding pretty great. But on the side, the two rappers in the trio — Dave and Posdnuos — have started a sorta-goofy project called First Serve.

And now it’s been revealed that the group’s DJ/producer, Maseo, has his own side-gig in the works. According to HipHopDX, he’s releasing a new solo album called DJ Conductor that finds him producing new artists and my friends that I’ve been wanting to work with for a long time.” Those artists include the likes of KRS-One, Freddie Foxxx, Fashawn, and, um, Mac Miller? OK. We’re not the biggest fan of the young Pittsburgh rapper’s work, but we trust you, Maseo.
