Dax Riggs sings of Blood, Love

Dax Riggs, formerly of deadboy and the Elephantmen and Acid Bath, will release the first album under his own name, We Sing Only of Blood or Love, August 7 on Fat Possum. Riggs recorded the album in New Orleans and Brooklyn with guitar help and other assistance from Matt Sweeney of Chavez renown. Others aiding on the recordings included Chavez drummer James Lo, T.K. Webb, and folks who played alongside Riggs in the Elephantmen. Songs on the album included such upbeat-sounding numbers as “Demon Tied to a Chair,” “Living is Suicide,” “Terrors of Nightlife,” and a cover of Richard Thompson’s “Wall of Death.”
Riggs will be previewing the new material at a handful of June concert appearances. Read on after the jump for those dates…[more:]
