
David Bowie’s timing is impeccable. First, we get Jimmy Fallon parodying Ziggy Stardust on his show. Then comes news that Bowie is reissuing his acclaimed album, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust, to celebrate its 40th anniversary. It looks like Fallon might have to dust off that costune one more time in the not-too distant future.
EMI is issuing the album on June 5 on limited edition vinyl and CD, with each track fully remastered. There isn’t a huge amount of bonus material included here, but the vinyl release will come with a special DVD version of the album, which should satisfy audiophiles (until the next inevitable reissue of this album comes around).
