David Bazan Readies Curse Your Branches

Since ending his days fronting Pedro the Lion in 2005, David Bazan has been pretty quiet. He made an album of electro-pop under the name Headphones, and has released one EP and one 7-inch under his own name. Mix in the occasional small tour and you've got a guy who has been active enough, but has still stayed pretty much under the radar.

Well, in 2009 Bazan will finally return with a new album. The disc is call Curse Your Branches, and it will be the first full-length record released under his own name. Barsuk Records will have the honor of putting out the disc, and while no track list or album art is yet available, we do know that "Please Baby Please," which originally appeared as the b-side on Bazan's American Flags single, has been re-recorded and will appear on the new album. Curse Your Branches will be out Aug. 25.
