It's easy forget that Dave Grohl originally hailed from the midwest. Born in Warren, Ohio, he moved to Alexandria, Virginia at a young age, quickly became a part of the D.C. music scene, and then got a call from some guy named Kurt Cobain. We all know what happened next. But despite spending very little of his life in Ohio, I guess Warren will take what they can get in terms of claiming celebrities. According to Wikipedia, the next biggest name from the town is Maurice Clarett (ouch).
After a successful local petition, Market Alley in Warren, Ohio will be renamed Dave Grohl Alley. Grohl hasn't been confirmed to appear at the naming ceremony (he has been invited, of course), but he still has family in the area. Maybe this will help swing Ohio to Obama somewhat?
