Dave Grohl revealed last year that he is working on a documentary about the legendary Sound City Studios, where artists including Nirvana, Nine Inch Nails and Eric Clapton have recorded. Now, further details on the project have emerged, with Slipknot’s Corey Taylor revealing his involvement.
"Dave is doing a documentary about the legendary board from Sound City that everybody and their mom recorded on and he's slowly but surely gotten all these people together to make music on that board again,” Taylor said, in an interview with Artisan News Service.
Sound City is where Nirvana recorded Nevermind with Butch Vig, and the latter teamed up with Grohl again for the documentary. Taylor revealed he worked with Grohl and Rick Nielsen of Cheap Trick on a song in the studio, calling it “a huge check mark on my bucket list.” It’s not clear yet who else worked on the Sound City project, but expect more news to leak sooner rather than later.
