With established festivals like Coachella, Lollapalooza and Outside Lands making their mark in their singular location, New York City’s Governor’s Ball is establishing itself as the must-see festival in the nation’s largest city.
This morning, Founders Entertainment announced the dates for the third edition of Governor’s Ball, which will take place on June 8 and 9 in Randall's Island Park, which for those of you who aren’t aware of its location is between Manhattan and Queens.
The announcement promised additional performance areas to the festival grounds, an expanded and stronger lineup, while improving existing attractions and activities including art installations, games, gourmet food trucks, craft beer and wine vendors.
It sounds like they are taking the best elements from the existing festivals and combining them into making Governor's Ball a destination for music fans as well
Last year’s eclectic lineup included performers like Beck, Passion Pit, Kid Cudi, Fiona Apple, Modest Mouse, Explosions In The Sky, Duck Sauce, Chromeo and Atmosphere.
Stay tuned for further information on Governors Ball 2013 in the months to come.
