
While we wait on further news about the new Grizzly Bear album, Daniel Rossen from the band has announced the release of a five-track solo EP. Silent Hour/Golden Mile will be issued by Warp on March 20, marking something of a departure from his work with his main band and Department of Eagles. The track “Saint Nothing” has been issued ahead of the release, which is a contemplative piece that mixes up piano balladry and swelling string and horn parts. There’s a clear Randy Newman influence at work here, and it’s also reminiscent of the kind of tender arrangements the Chicago-based Newman acolyte Plush was working on circa his Fed LP.
