Daniel Johnston Archival Collection Nears Release

On June 22, Spain's Munster label will release The Story of an Artist by Daniel Johnston, which collects six early recordings previously available only on cassette. The set, which will be available on CD and LP (but strangely enough, not on tapes) collects Songs of Pain, Don't Be Scared, The What of Whom, More Songs of Pain,

and The Lost Recordings I and II. Included with the music is a booklet with liner notes by Everett True and samples of Johnston's visual art. Ordering information can be found here. [Pitchfork]
