Dangermouse+Sparklehorse=Dangerhorse

Gigwise reported yesterday that producer for hire, Dangermouse, will be teaming up with Mark Linkous (aka Sparklehorse) on a side project ever-so-cleverly named Dangerhorse. Apparently the idea for a collaboration started when Dangermouse helped with the recording of Sparklehorse's latest, Dreamt For Light Years In The Belly Of A Mountain. Here's what Linkous had to say about the project:
''"There were some songs that didn't make it for the Sparklehorse album proper that we're going to use for Dangerhorse, then we're we're going to start on that record proper in a couple of months. (Dangermouse can) just grab bits and pieces of different songs and just flip them over backwards and put them into other songs. I like to call him the Jimi Hendrix of the laptop."
Awkward analogies aside, this actually sounds like an interesting project. We'll keep you posted with further developments.

i really wish we'd stop with the "you're named AA, and i'm named BB, so let's call ourselves AB" thing.

I liked Danger Mouse more when he was just doing stuff with Gemini.

[...] We only get a new album from Mark Linkous, aka Sparklehorse, about once every half-decade. Even rarer is when the man hits the road. So I’d say catch him while you can. Linkous will hit the road in February with Jesse Sykes and the Sweet Herafter, whose new album Like, Love, Lust, and the Open Halls of the Soul (early contender for worse album title of ‘07) drops on February 6th. No word yet on who might be in Linkous’ touring band, but keep in mind that Danger Mouse, Steve Drozd, and Tom Waits appeared on Dreamt for Light Years in the Belly of a Mountain (strong showing for worst album title of ‘06), and PJ Harvey is a big fan known to jump on stage with Sparklehorse.
