The long rumored collaboration between Danger Mouse and Mark Linkous of Sparklehorse has finally come to fruition. The album, announced formally yesterday, so far exists only in
poster form
, but boasts a long list of pretty amazing collaborators. If the press is to be believed, talents as diverse as Black Francis, the Flaming Lips, Vic Chesnutt, Suzanne Vega, Julian Casablancas and Iggy Pop put their unique musical points of view to work on the project. Perhaps most interesting, though, is the name David Lynch nestled in among the musicians. What could the director of
Blue Velvet
be contributing to such a diverse cast and and the endless inventiveness of Danger Mouse? The possibilities seem endless and probably a little creepy. [
