If you weren’t already bitter about missing Bonnaroo, there’s some unbelievable new footage to change your mind. Late last night the festival had a surprise set from none other than neo-soul veteran D’Angelo, making his first appearance on stage in the U.S. in over a decade. The crooner was joined onstage by members of the Roots, Parliament Funkadelic and the Time for a performance that included covers of the Beatles, Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin.
The above picture, by the way, comes from ?uestlove of the Roots’ Instagram account. Check out footage of the crew covering the Beatles’ classic “She Came In Through The Bathroom Window” and try to catch D’Angelo In New Orleans at the Essence Festival next month or in Philadelphia at Jay-Z’s Made in America Festival this September.
