Daft Punk Will Wear Star Wars Helmet For Their Grammy Performance

Daft Punk will be hitting the stage tomorrow night at the Grammys; the first live performance in support of their critically acclaimed release Random Access Memories. While the French duo are well-known for their robotic masks, it seems that the duo will be donning different masks tomorrow.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Daft Punk will be wearing Star Wars stormtrooper helmets that look “like they could be from the Empire Strikes Back era and appear to be authentic.” Quickly after the news, Star Wars‘ official Twitter account confirmed the report: “We’re up all night to get Rebels. #DaftPunk to don some new helmets @TheGRAMMYs.”

This should come as no surprise as the Robots and Star Wars have often crossed paths; in a 2010 Adidas commercial the Robots were set into Star Wars’ famous cantina scene. In other Daft Punk/ Grammy related news, the French duo will be performing alongside Nile Rodgers, Pharrell and Stevie Wonder to perform a medley of Deft Punk’s “Get Lucky” and “Lose Yourself to Dance,” Chic’s “Le Freak,” and Stevie Wonder’s “I Wish.”
