It's safe to assume that a lot of hip-hop heads lost their shit when Curren$yannounced in November 2009 that he, Mos Def, and Jay Electronica had started a group together called Center Edge Territory*. Even bigger than that, though, was the fact that Spitta proclaimed that they already completed six songs. But since then, the only time we have heard them together was on "The Day," off the New Orleans native's first 2010 album, Pilot Talk. And if this interview with the Well Versed is any indication, it looks like it will be a while before we hear anything else from the group.
"There’s more records but we’ll release them when they are needed. “The Day” is still making its rounds and there are people that haven’t heard it. When enough people who know about Center Edge, then we’ll be able to release the next record."
Sigh. Oh well. I think Curren$y's upcoming free project with the Alchemist, Covert Coup, should hold us over.
*It was announced at one point that Stalley was a member of the group, too, though I'm not sure if that's still the case.
