Cults Sign To Columbia

Brooklyn duo Cults have just made one of the most unlikely leaps in blog-band history: the group, which to date has played only a handful of live shows and released just one single, has signed to major label Columbia. The group is working on its debut album, which is due out in Spring 2011. Congrats to Cults. [P4K]

Actually, not that uncommon for majors to sign small groups like this. Often, they shelve these acts and make it very difficult for them to get their stuff out.

But yeah, this happens all the time.


Yeah, but usually bands have to put out an EP or an album before a major takes the risk. This group has released two songs. And it's not like either of those is on Top 40 radio right now.
