It’s almost two years since Crystal Castles released their manic second record, and it looks like a follow-up is due to be released later this year. An interview in NME with Ethan Kane from the duo laid out their plans—it will be recorded in Croatia next month, with a potential summer release date mooted.
Kath claims Croatia was chosen as the destination because “we played there earlier this year and thought it was a good place to escape and seclude ourselves.” Anyone worried that the band may be about to change direction can take solace from Kath’s words: “every song we write feels bleak to me,” he said.
The interview appeared in the print edition of the NME, but has leaked online via the Crystal Castles forum, to an ecstatic response. “I think people trust us,” said Kath. “And they know we’d never disappoint them.” Head over here to read the entire interview. [via BPM]
