Cronenberg Says Eastern Promises Sequel Is Off

Fans of Viggo Mortenson full-frontal nudity will no doubt be disappointed, but director David Cronenberg said on a recent press tour for his new movie Cosmopolis that Focus Features was no longer interested in backing a promised sequel to Eastern Promises. The second film was to have directly followed the first, with Mortensen's undercover agent now dealing with a more formidable Vincent Cassel, who played underboss Kirill in the original. I, for one, say there's no use crying over spilled milk- Cronenberg should just jump on the Robocop reboot buzz and bring back Peter Weller for Naked Dinner.[Slashfilm]
