If you can't beat them ... offer the same product at half the cost. Creative has introduced the Zen Stone, and hasn't forgot to include the custom colors. Get it in black, blue, red, white, pink, and a green yellow-ish that might beat the brown Zune for ugliest shading on an MP3 player.
The Stone is available for a mere $39.99. Aesthetically, the Shufle looks better in almost every way, but costs $79. Buy the Shufle for yourself, and the Zen Stone for that nephew you really don't like.
