It's not as though MySpace is strictly the province of indie rockers, but someone decided the hip-hop community needed their own social networking site. Fair enough - so what name do you want to give to this site, something that's a proper tribute to the four elements of hip-hop, or maybe something a little more lighthearted?
How about CrackSpace? Great!
Hip-hop may or may not be dead, but sometimes it feels like it got a lobotomy somewhere along the way. Sure, you can talk about crack dealing as part of the urban hustle, but do the suburban white kids who sign up for this site really need to represent like that?
It's not like the site is promoted by a former Source editor and Benzino - Chuck Wilson started the site, and you'd hope for a less cliched name from the founder of BabyGrande records, home to respected underground acts like Jedi Mind Tricks and Immortal Technique.
CrackSpace will feature news, videos, and all the usual profile niceties. It's in beta right now but available for signup. Remember, putting $'s in your profile name will get you in the beginning of the list, so be on the look out for $$$$$$$$dR.nOmOlOs$$$$$$$$ !!!

The name crackspace.com is more than wack, it's an insult to hip hop. If you want to see what a real hip hop social network looks like visit Rapspace.TV. On that site, real MCs with webcams and mics can spit their rhymes and return hip hop to what it used to be before corporate "crack dealers" turned it into the "bling, booty and blunt" stereotype being offered on the airwaves. Here's a test of Rapspace.TV:Hip Hop for the people, of the people, by the people!!!
