Cowboy Junkies reinterpret classic album
Revisting landmark albums seems to be quite the trend these days, what with bands going back to their own landmarks (Sonic Youth's recent All Tomorrow's Parties shows featuring complete run-throughs of Daydream Nation) or reworking big influences (Dirty Projectors taking on Black Flag, Japancakes My Bloody Valentine). Now Cowboy Junkies is revisting its iconic album, The Trinity Session, on the occasion of the album's twentieth anniversary. The band re-entered the Church of the Holy Trinity in Toronto, where the original was recorded, to recreate the work. And they weren't alone. Guesting on Trinity Revisited are fellow musicians including Ryan Adams, Vic Chesnutt, and Natalie Merchant. The CD/DVD set will be officially released in the band's native Canada via Warner. It's unclear as to whether the band's U.S. label, Zoe, plans on putting Trinity Revisted out, but big fans can already purchase it here. Cowboy Junkies are scheduled to play the album in its entirety February 23 at Toronto's Massey Hall.

Appears that's the only one, yes. |

I really want to hear this - the original album was gorgeous. Is the Toronto date the only one scheduled thus far?
