Courtney Love Talks About Hole 'Reunion'

· by

Hole are getting back together, except they’re not, because Courtney Love declined to invite anyone who performed in the band in the past. The singer has clearly eyed the ‘90s reunion bandwagon with some interest, and has allegedly taken what was supposed to be a solo album titled Nobody’s Daughter, and turned it into a Hole record.

"I don't function well without a real band," she said in an interview on Spin.com. "Nobody asks Trent: 'why Nine Inch Nails?'" said Love, referring to Trent Reznor’s various Nine Inch Nails lineups. "I made the band name up,” she continued. Despite these claims, it’s hard not to imagine original guitarist Eric Erlandson feeling slighted.

The Hole dates begin in London at the Shepherd’s Bush Empire on Feb. 17 and are followed by shows in Milan and Amsterdam. No concerts are scheduled for North America yet, but expect a press and paparazzi scrum if Love decides to bring the band to these shores.

This is distinctly unsatisfying.

Eerily suitable song choice, given her current set of circumstances. Wicked messy run through though. Definitely gonna have to bust out my copy of Let It Be real soon. Best part of the video comes at the end: "Do you need anything else from the pharmacy while I'm out?" Cinema verite!
