Twitter streams across the globe can breathe a sigh of relief—Courtney Love has quit the service. The Hole singer was infamous for posting long diatribes about Etsy, music journalists, Nirvana’s involvement in Guitar Hero, and many other topics, all spread over hundreds of individual tweets.
Love’s daughter, Frances Bean Cobain, has also quit the service after posting some scathing tweets about Lindsay Lohan’s sister, Ali. Here’s an example of one of the tweets from Frances, who has clearly inherited both her invective and spelling skills from her mother:
"Your [sic] not entitled to anything simply because your sister has a recognizable name. Your idea of fame isn't fame. It's infamy. You want to be famous? Work your ass off and make decisions that could potentially catapult your career into a lasting one."
Love hasn’t issued a statement about her sudden disappearance from Twitter, although it’s unlikely that she will stay silent for very long. Frances did leave us with one last tweet, which said: “So i will no longer be posting on twitter. I won't question myself or my ideas due to a heckle of idiots who invaded a once interesting site.” Clearly Twitter is reaching the if-you-can't-stand-the-heat-get-out-of-the-kichen stage for some celebrities.

It's still so strange to think of Kurt Cobain's daughter as a teenager.
