So you know how Cory Gunz was arrested over the weekend for possession of a loaded firearm? Well, after his father, Peter Gunz, confirmed the news yesterday, Cory felt it was time to speak on the incident himself. After being released early this morning on $30,000 bail, the Young Money rapper opened up about the arrest with NY Daily News.
In the interview, Gunz, who has two daughters, reveals that he intends on fighting the charges. Here's exactly what he told The Daily News:
"This was a big mistake on my part," Gunz [said]. "I didn't have any intentions of harming anyone or committing a criminal activity. So many young people look up to me and I need to fight though this."
"It's been really hard, really stressful," Gunz said. "When the smoke finally clears people will understand what was going on."
If convicted, Gunz faces faces a minimum sentence of 3.5 years.
