Hello all, Jeff here. You may not be wildly surprised to learn that writing reviews and such for this space is not the sum total of my involvement with music. I occasionally have a hand in putting together little New York City concert bills, under the name Neon Lights. Well, our first show of 2008 is this Saturday, March 1st at the Galapagos Art Space in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Being a fan of synergy, and being the one in charge of such things, I'm offering registered Prefix users a chance to come for free.
Saturday's bill will feature Eamon Hamilton, singer/songwriter for the Rough Trade UK band Brakes (and former member of British Sea Power) playing his first solo show in the US. Brash Troubleman Records signed New Jersey youths Titus Andronicus and gloomy/great Brooklyn pop band Crystal Stilts will also be playing.
Interested Prefixers can e-mail info@prefixmag.com with their user name and "Neon Lights" in the subject line to enter. A winner will be selected at random and granted a plus one to boot. Good day.
