Teenage angst apparently has paid off well for identity theives who may have bilked Kurt Cobain's estate of $72 million, according to a recent report in the Sun of London. Courtney Love told the paper about the frauds that began five years ago, but she was too drugged up to stop it, or to get anyone to believe her, she told the paper. "It was fraud after fraud," Love said. "But nobody believed me until now."
She added that she knows who the con men are -- how many wasn't revealed -- and she spoke to Los Angeles Police detectives last week. She says the thieves got a hold of his social security number and bought a $3 million mansion in New Jersey, bought cars, cashed checks against the estate and created credit cards in his name. Cobain's estate pulls in about $40 million annually, most of which goes into a trust fund for Frances Bean.
Never one to shy away from a lighthearted quip despite chronic misfortune and tragedy, Love told the Sun that she thinks she would know if her late husband recently bought a home in Jersey despite her being wacked out on drugs the past decade. "He should probably get his ass back home if that's the case," she added. [The Daily Swarm]

I call bullshiz on Courtney. There's something fishy about "I was conned out of millions.... 5 years ago."
