Bright Eyes principal Conor Oberst holed himself and others down in Tepoztlan, Morelos, Mexico in January and February of this year to record his first solo album in thirteen years, a follow-up to 1995's Soundtrack to My Movie. He recorded with The Mystic Valley Band, as the members are known amongst themselves and friends. Merge will release the album on August 4. Oberst and The Mystic Valley Band will perform at the Austin City Limits Music Festival in September.
