Track Review: Common - "Misunderstood" (prod. Devo Springsteen)

At this rate, every Common track will hit the internets one by one before the retail leak even drops. And at this rate, Finding Forever is shaping up to be the album that the excellent Be really wanted to, well, be. I find this odd because Common spoke of how he wanted to take it back to the basics with Be, and craft grown folks music for Finding Forever, yet based on "Misunderstood" and his other two tracks that have leaked, the exact opposite has happened. Do not mistake this for complaining, however. "Misunderstood" is dark and soulful, much like the voice of Nina Simone who Devo Springsteen samples beautifully. With a bassline that crumbles your innards, this track makes me even more excited for July 10th.
