Common gives a taste of new album

Common previewed eight tracks from his upcoming album Invincible Summer a couple days ago. This release, slated for mid-July, comes almost exactly one year after his last effort Finding Forever. He is steering in a different direction this time, soliciting production from The Neptunes and Outkast producer Mr. DJ to replace Kanye West, his creative partner for the past two albums. According to Billboard.com, the album is more electro-inspired than anything Common has ever done. “This is the type of music I felt I was missing from my body of work” he explains. The rapper has a strong desire to make music for the club. The album will also feature Cee-Lo, Neptunes’ pop group Chester French, and Santogold. The up-tempo track “Universal Mind Control (U.M.C.)” will most likely be the first single.

Here’s the track list as of now:

"Universal Mind Control (U.M.C.)"

"Make My Day" feat. Cee-Lo

"Punch Love"

"What A World" feat. Chester French

"Changes"

"Party Shit"

"Dreaming"

"Runaway" feat. Santogold
