Kanye West’s Black American Psycho album may have turned out to be a hoax, but there will be a new solo album to emerge from the G.O.O.D. Music camp in the coming months. In an interview with MTV, the label’s long-time lyricist Common announced that he will release his tenth LP in January 2013.
“I am writing a new album. It will be coming out in January, and I’m looking forward to that,” he said. “My stuff will come at the top of the year, maybe some songs out there on the street level.”
Common also revealed that he’s working with No I.D. on the new record, and hopefully with Kanye, too. Considering these guys were instrumental in two of the MC’s finest bodies of work (No I.D. on last year’s The Dreamer/The Believer, and ‘Ye on 2005’s Be), that’s exactly what we like to hear.
