Great track. Common is definitely getting mainstream, but that's fine by me. The movie Freedom Writers looks good too

I've been expecting Common to go mainstream for a while now. Remember that Coke commercial he had a few years back. Now he's got the Peace Love & Gap stuff. Good for him.

My feelings for this are so complicated. The song itself is decent, though nothing special, and what they are saying is nice and positive but hardly revolutionary. Common is, as usual, spectacular. He continues to amaze on a techincal level. But it's a song for a movie, a commercial for a product, and they are using mlk, his words, and his image, to promote that movie, and to make their song better. I'm reminded of the boondocks ep. Common, why do you have to be so hard to like these days?

I came to the conclusion that common is turning into an irrelvant cornball after i saw him at coachella. That makes me sad. I have a feeling that Finding Forever will be the hip hop cousin to that John Legend borefest that came out last year.

Will.i.am. is a great influence over pop culture.

[...] On another note, despite the fact Common has made a song for yet another major motion picture soundtrack, he made a wise decision to bring in Denaun Porter to produce the track and avoid excessive claims of overt corniness from cynical fans such as myself. But the important thing here is that a) Piven can get down on the bongos; and b) Bilal continues to establish himself as the coolest dude nobody knows about.            [...]

I love this song because it really inspires people to follow their dreams. It helps people notice that racial segregation is still revalant today and the situation still has not been solved.
