As we reported throughout 2010, Amy Winehouse had spent plenty of time in the studio prior to her tragic passing last month. We learned that she recorded tracks similar to her sophomore record, Back to Black, and planned on collaborating with Questlove and Raphael Saadiq. Whether or not we'll hear a slew of posthumous material remains to be seen (heard?).
But we do now know that we'll be hearing what's being called her "final recording" next month. Apparently it's a duet she recorded with Tony Bennett called "Body and Soul" that was intended for use on Bennett's forthcoming album, Duets II. Columbia Records is releasing the track in September in conjunction with the Amy Winehouse Foundation. The charity was started by her family as a means of assisting young people and children struggling with addiction.
