Sure the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is nice, but appearing on The Simpsons, though not as cool as it once was, still puts a musician in a group with Johnny Cash, three of the Beatles, and John Jay Smith (a.k.a. Michael Jackson). The latest member of this exclusive group is Coldplay, who will play a command performance for Bart when Homer wins the lottery. Though the plot device smacks of Cousin Oliver syndrome, the band will at least be able to say they appeared on show. In addition, Coldplay can cross one more item off of their "Doing Things U2 Did Ten Years Ago" list. [Rolling Stone] and [Stereogum]
Was that really Michael Jackson on that episode? I always thought it was an impersonator who did the voice.
He did the speaking parts, but all of the singing was done by Kipp Lennon.
