Coldplay Face Plagiarism Charges (Again)

"Talented, but unknown" singer Sammie Lee Smith has filed a lawsuit against Coldplay, who he claims ripped him off in their songs "Yellow," "Trouble," and "Clocks." Smith, who filed the suit in Los Angeles, claims to have written at least 4,000 songs, which he keeps on a crapload of cassette tapes, three of which Coldplay somehow heard and ripped off.

I mean, if dude wants to get some publicity for a band plagiarizing his stuff, Coldplay are a safe bet, since it seems like half of Viva La Vida sounds lifted from someone else. But this seems even more unlikely than the Creaky Boards allegations. [Spinner]
