Earlier today, NME had a post up about Chris Martin discussing a possible Coldplay split in the next couple of years. The post has since been taken down, which leads Prefix to believe that someone swooped in to quell those rumors. Of course, once the rumor hits the web, it's very hard to take it off, and a quick Google News search reveals the following quote on the prospect of a Coldplay breakup from Chris Martin:
"I'm 31 now and I don't think bands should keep going past 33," BANG Showbiz quotes him as saying
"So we're trying to pack in as much as possible. Up until the end of next year, we'll just go for it in every sense. I don't believe in time off.
"We've still got our own hair, we can still fit into our musical trousers and we've got to make the most of that."
Let's be very clear: this is nothing but pure rumor: Coldplay is not breaking up anytime soon, and we don't know if Chris Martin is telling the truth about the long term. We're not quite sure if he's ever telling the truth. But Coldplay fans shouldn't be scouring the web for farewell tour tickets just yet. [Digital Spy]
