Via: NMEIn a move that could turn out to be one of the most extreme cases of fan base misinterpretation in recent history, Coldplay will release a vinyl-only, singles box set collection March 26 in the UK. The Singles 1999-2006 will feature all 14 of the band's singles from its debut EP The Blue Room in 1999 to 2005's X&Y. Each track will be pressed on its own 7" disc.
Now, it's obvious that this is meant as a collector's item more than anything else, but does anyone really think that most of Coldplay's fanbase even owns turntables? Nevermind the logical long jump required to understand why these people would want to buy a vinyl box set of songs they've all likely had on their iPods for years now. There doesn't seem to be any plans for a U.S. release at the moment, and that's probably for the best.
