Coldplay Apparently Not that Great for <i>Simpsons</i> Ratings, Matt Groening to Add New Fan-Created Character to Their Episode

The fact that Coldplay are set to appear on an episode of The Simpsons next year just became the third most notable thing about said episode (airing Jan. 31, 2010). First: The show is soliciting new characters from fans, and the winner will be introduced on the episode featuring Coldplay. Second: Homer chokes Bart.* Third: Coldplay appear in a cameo that is very brief, but advertised for at least a week, just like every musician cameo on The Simpsons, ever. [Spinner]
